. treatment of arterial hypertension

. prevention: reducing cardiovascular risk and mortality

. in patients with confirmed coronary heart disease, with or without a history of myocardial infarction;

. in patients with a history of stroke;

. in patients with peripheral arterial occlusive disease;

. in patients with diabetes mellitus and with one or more additional risk factors (microalbuminuria, arterial hypertension, increased plasma total cholesterol concentrations, decreased plasma HDL cholesterol concentrations, smoking)

. diabetic or nondiabetic nephropathy:

. early diabetic glomerular nephropathy in patients with microalbuminuria

. expressed diabetic glomerular nephropathy in patients with macroproteinuria and with at least one cardiovascular risk factor, indicated above

. expressed glomerular nondiabetic nephropathy with macroproteinuria exceeding 3 g/day

. secondary prevention after acute myocardial infarction (after 48 hours): reduction in mortality after an acute phase of myocardial infarction in patients with clinical signs of heart failure

. treatment of symptomatic heart failure.
