The pharmaceutical company Interchem ALC (Odessa) has localized production of three medicines on the basis of Kazakhstan’s VIVA Pharm, that will be presented on the market of Kazakhstan.

Interfax-Ukraine agency was informed by Botagoz Mashkeyeva, Medical Director of the company VIVA Pharm, that at manufacturing facilities of Kazakhstan’s pharmaceutical plant in the near future Tilaxin antiviral pills will be produced, which known as Amixin in Ukraine, anxiolytic Gidazepam VIC in the form of tablet and sublingual tablets, and opioid drug Morphine Sulfate VIC in a pill form.

Mashkeyeva added that the companies are working currently on the localization of a number of drug product, among which there will be several anxiolytics, antiepileptic drugs, and medicines to treat severe pain syndrome. She emphasized that state support policy of local manufacturers is implemented in Kazakhstan, that comprises transfer of technologies for manufacturing of drug products to Kazakhstan is more profitable than import of finished medicines.

“In recent years, this has given a significant rise to development of local pharmaceutical production, that has allowed to create high-paying jobs for local workers, and therewith it significantly increased availability and affordability of modern and effective drugs”, said B. Mashkeyeva.

Whereas, Deputy General Director of Interchem ALC for marketing Irina Granatyuk, noted that along with the transfer of technologies and supplies of substances for production, Ukrainian experts are involved in pharmaceutical development and ensuring the quality system of products at all stages.

"We are cooperating with colleagues from Kazakhstan for many years. The market of this country is dynamically developing and demonstrating stable growth. Considering Kazakhstan state policy of encouragement for domestic production of medicines, the decision to launch manufacturing a variety of demanded medicines there has been made. The most important item for us was the issue of preserving the quality of our drugs. And we have managed to find a partner for localization of manufacturing which, we are sure, will ensure consistently high quality products”, she said.

As reported that in May 2016, Interchem opened new eight-storey laboratory and production complex with logistics center and administrative part of 15 thousand square meters. Total investment in the new project reached more than EUR 42 million.

Interchem is one of the leading Ukrainian producers of finished pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical substances. Production of pharmaceutical products is certified in compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice). Product portfolio of Interchem ALC includes eight API, more than 80 nomenclature units of finished pharmaceutical products, including four brand-name drugs Fenazepam, Gidazepam, Amixin, Levana. Medicines Amixin and Gidazepam are included in top-50 of pharmaceuticals in Ukraine. Portion of brand-name drugs in sales pattern of pharmaceutical manufacturer is about 45%. Pharmaceutical company Interchem is a member of Association “Manufacturers of medications of Ukraine” (AMMU).

VIVA Pharm Kazakhstan has been working in the pharmaceutical market of Kazakhstan for 18 years, engaged in pharmaceutical development, clinical research, registration, production and storage of a wide range of medicines.

Integrated production line of VIVA Pharm has a capacity of 200 million tablets and capsules per year, certified according to the GMP standard. The company has marketing authorizations and produces 25 names of medicines.
