On 28-29 September, the 2nd National Nephrology Congress of the National Kidney Foundation of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held in Turkestan.

In accordance with the customs established by Abu Nasir Al-Farabi and Ahmed Yassawi, the event was attended by prominent international and local specialists in the field of nephrology.

The main issues explored at the Congress included fundamental research and innovative directions in clinical nephrology, integration of international standards, contemporary therapies, modalities of haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and kidney transplantation.

According to the Congress outcomes, a Resolution was passed on modern approaches to the treatment of CKD, as well as the prevention and treatment of infectious complications post kidney transplantation.

They participated in the exhibition and also presented a report on cytomegalovirus infection and infectious complications after kidney transplantation. The report was presented by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Chief Freelance Nephrologist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Head of the Department of Internal Medicine of JSC "Medical University of Astana", Tuganbekova Saltanat Kenesovna.
