VIVA Pharm and Pfizer Summarize Initial Results of Joint Logistics Project in Kazakhstan

17 August

VIVA Pharm announces the successful implementation of a large-scale project integrating warehouse and distribution infrastructure as part of its collaboration with Pfizer. This project has become an important milestone in enhancing supply efficiency and ensuring the uninterrupted availability of medicines for patients in Kazakhstan.

The collaboration launched in February 2025, with the comprehensive modernization of VIVA Pharm's warehouse infrastructure serving as the first stage. In preparation for meeting Pfizer's high standards, advanced technological solutions were implemented at the facility:

  • Expansion of Warehouse Capacity: Specialized cold rooms were constructed, increasing the warehouse cooling system's capacity to 100 pallet spaces.

  • Enhanced Safety Standards: An automatic sprinkler fire suppression system covering 570 sq. m was installed for the first time.

  • IT Infrastructure Development: The 1C system was integrated with SAP to ensure seamless data exchange.

"Collaboration with Pfizer has been more than just an infrastructure project for VIVA Pharm; it represents a transition to a more mature operational management model. The experience gained is especially valuable for our team: we managed to synchronize the work of different divisions, establish unified quality standards, and increase process predictability. This outcome was made possible thanks to close cooperation between specialists from both companies and shared responsibility for the final result. The created model will allow us to consistently develop our competencies in pharmaceutical logistics and execute new projects of a comparable scale," noted Tilek Temirbekov, Head of Supply Chain at Viva Pharm.

Operational metrics from December 2025 to July 2026 confirm the effectiveness of the chosen partnership model: the teams fulfilled 100% of received requests for product intake and distribution while strictly adhering to all temperature requirements during storage and transportation.

The partnership between VIVA Pharm and Pfizer is grounded in the principles of technological innovation and safety. Implementing advanced serialization processes and supply chain management ensures product authenticity at every stage—from the warehouse to the end patient. This remains a key priority for both companies.

"For Pfizer, this project is of strategic importance: a reliable and modern supply system directly impacts the availability of medicines for Kazakhstani patients. Strict compliance with storage and transportation requirements is one of the most critical conditions for guaranteeing product quality and safety all the way to the patient. The implemented modernization of warehouse infrastructure and digital system integration have enhanced the stability and transparency of the entire supply chain. We highly value our partner's readiness to invest in technological solutions and adhere to high international standards. The patient is always at the heart of our activities, which is why the uninterrupted availability of essential medicines remains our top priority. I am confident that this project will serve as a solid foundation for the further development of our cooperation and contribute to strengthening Kazakhstan's healthcare system," stated Dmitry Kozenkov, Country Manager of Pfizer in Kazakhstan.
