As part of its partnership with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), VIVA PHARM was invited to the EBRD Business Forum held on May 16-18, 2023 in Uzbekistan alongside the XXXII Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors. Samarkand, one of the ancient cities of Central Asia, entered in the UNESCO World Heritage List, was chosen as the venue for the event.

The EBRD Business Forum, devoted to Investing in Sustainability, provided an opportunity to share knowledge, promote business activity and participate in a dynamic programme of events that included prominent attendees from all over the world, from senior government officials, financial and corporate leaders to entrepreneurs, representatives of civil society and international media.

We heard from the EBRD opinion and experts’ views on how to help the economies of the countries in which the Bank invests to face the actual geopolitical challenges. The Business Forum included expert discussions on the macroeconomic environment and the role of the private sector, political figures’ meetings and dialogues on the development of renewable and sustainable energy, inter-regional connectivity, economic integration, food security, digitalisation and other pressing topics of today's world.

The Forum also embraced thematic sessions on specific countries and regions, including Kazakhstan. It was of utmost importance for us to witness the signing of the Agreement at the Forum between VIVA PHARM and Bank CenterCredit as assisted and guaranteed by EBRD and DAMU Fund.

Attending the EBRD Annual Meeting and Business Forum 2023 in Samarkand was an amazing experience!
